This application isn't configurable enough. It is not possible to set the JPG extraction interval to custom settings. There are only few presets (1, 2, 5, 10 or 20 seconds). I miss some 60 seconds preset and generally it should be possible to set the interval to any number of seconds (e.g. 12, 17, 0.75 and so on) - i do mean really free choice. And there should be two more preferences configurable at least. First: Output (sub-) folder creation based on the filename of the video to convert in batch mode. Second: there should be an automatism to store certain metadata in the EXIF information in the created JPGs (for example the timestamp of the playback position in the video - EXIF information can contain date and time of the shot. It should be possible to store the playback position of the image in this EXIF metadata entries. So assuming the playback starts at 0:00:00 AM some extracted JPG of the fourth hour sixteenth minute and twentyeighth second of the video should contain the timestamp 4:16:28 in the appropriate (maybe freely selectable) EXIF metadata entry field. It would even be possible to brandmark the crated JPGs by storing a branding inside the EXIF metadata. Such EXIF metadata fields for the camera vendor and camera model can be reused for storing information of the creator or the creating application (e.g. the camera vendor could be set to "DVDVideoSoft" and the camera model could be set to the name or the build number of the application). It should even be possible to store information out of the filename of the video file or the file timestamps of the input file (e.g. last modified timestamp) inside the EXIF metadata of the output files. This would maake this application ideal for batch processing of larger video collections. If there would be options to store the extracted images in more than the original resolution of the input video file this would be even greater. So some user could store the extracted images in additional resolutions relative to the input resolution or in an absolut resololution wich would be great for making thumbnail collections. And if there would be at last and not least an option to pack all extracted images in some single image file side by side (horizontally or vertically with one ore multiple columns and or rows) this application would be hardly even more improvable. So, okay, portable apps are always more welcome.
